I volunteer at the Early Head Start program in downtown Baltimore. My main job? Holding babies, aged 2 months to 3 years. Each day, we take the "babies" outside for a walk or to the park. Last winter, I was surprised that none of these children had hats for their tiny heads. I knew I had to change that, so I got to making hats right away. This is a pattern a friend and I used years ago, when we had booths at craft fairs. They work up really quickly (you can easily sew 6 in an hour!) They're simple enough that tweens and older kids can make them (perfect for Girl Scout troops or other charity sewing.) I hope you love the pattern, and make a bunch!
I've been sewing, quilting and teaching for decades. I dream in yardage and fat quarters. I'd rather have fabric than a manicure, but would most often choose chocolate (dark) over fabric. But it would have to be a lot of chocolate.
Thank you for considering my pattern!
