Pattern Description:

My sister Monica got to a point when she was under using her Diaper bag, but over using her purses. So she asked me to make a not so big Big Bag she called it. So I came up with this shoulder bag. I loved the size so much I use mine as a book bag. This PDF pattern shows you how to sew a 14" x 14" x 4" single strap shoulder bag. It comes with full size sewing pattern pieces, that you can print on your regular printer, then tile the papers together to have a full size paper pattern to cut your pattern pieces. If you sew it with fabric you like both inside and out, it can be reversible. All seam are hidden. ***This is a Personal Use pattern. If you would like to sell the items you make please purchase a Commercial use pattern.

Materials:

1 yard for outer fabric
1 yard for lining fabric
1 yard of batting
matching thread

Sewing machine
invisible tape
scissors

Very easy to follow instructions! May 4, 2012

I have always been able to sew, but this is the first pattern I have ever followed and it turned out fabulous!!!. Very easy to follow with easy instructions for add on pockets. Very clear instructions for any skill levels.

This was a gift for my mother and now I really want one for myself.

Instead of making the bag reversible, I used the patch pockets to make the bag into a commuter bag for my mother. I just made patch pockets (with extra padding) to fit her smartphone, ...

Go-to bag pattern March 12, 2012

I gave the pattern 5 stars. It was easy to use and an easy project to complete in an afternoon (it took me 4 hours, start to finish, and that included printing and cutting / taping the PDF pattern).

I used duckcloth on the outside and PUL: on the inside, as I will be using this bag to bring books and snacks to the park wtih me and wanted something that was durable and cleaned up easily.
