Pattern Description:

The handle of this tote is braided using the super-cool "mystery plait" technique used in traditional leather crafting. I've adapted it to make in fabric so that the handle emerges seamlessly from the body of the tote, giving a unique designer look & satisfyingly thick, strong handle. The base has a pleated detail to give a soft, up-to-date shape.

Please note measurements within the instructions are written in centimetres only (not inches). For a handy online converter I recommend

The tote is fully lined with an internal pocket & is a great practical everyday size.

-1 Instruction file with 7 pages of clear step-by-step instructions with photographs and drawings. The instructions assume basic sewing experience but are highly detailed & can be followed by an advanced beginner sewer.
-2 Pattern files. 1 file is sized for printing on A4 (210 x 297 mm) paper, the other for printing on US Letter (8.5" x 11") size. YOU ONLY NEED TO DOWNLOAD & PRINT ONE. The pattern can be printed on your home printer at 100% scale, taped together & cut.

This design would suit medium to heavyweight cotton, canvas, linen, denim, etc.
