I love to make things that I like to use, so I have a wide variety of patterns as a result of that. I have sewn for more years than I care to admit to...let's just say, for decades. I enjoy making patterns and sharing them with others. I try very hard to make them as easy to understand as I can. It is my hope that this is a way of helping others make things they like to use too.View all patterns by designer (73) »
Here is a great sewing pattern for a Mini Messenger Bag that is perfect for carrying your books, digital readers, cell phones, small projects, wallet, and even has a key strap to keep your keys from hiding out in the bottom. There is a small pocket on the front perfect for your cell phone. There is a zippered pocket on the front that is larger and great for small ereaders. On the back is a nice large slip pocket which you can close with velcro, or leave open as the pocket is snug enough to hold most things in there. The bag itself is roomy and has a rectangle shaped bottom making it easier to stand. Inside you have multiple pockets and a key strap. The shoulder strap is adjustable and can be made using webbing or from your own fabric. This pattern has some suggested alternative designs and many sewing tips along the way.
The pdf pattern is 26 pages full of quality photographs, computer drawn diagrams, step-by-step directions, sewing tips, and now full size pattern pieces. Measurements for most pieces are also given if you prefer to cut them out by their actual measurements. Fusible Fleece Interfacing suggested in this pattern will help to protect your items and give your bag a nice, soft, structure.
