Pattern Description:

With this Lilly*Blossom sewing guide you will learn how to make these lovely box shaped Make Up Bags with beaded zip pull. It would also make a great small bag to store pencils, craft pieces or general bits and bobs that you don't want to lose.

This 14 page guide is suitable for beginners, all you need is some basic experience of using a sewing machine to stitch straight and zigzag seams. Each step is written in clear simple text with lots of close up photographs. There is a full size printable template included.

All measurements are in centimetres and inches to suit all users.

You will learn how to insert the zip in a very simple and straight forward way, how to stitch the side and end seams and make simple gusset corners to give it that lovely boxed shape.


  • Two pieces measuring 25 x 16cm (10 x 61/4") in your chosen exterior fabric
  • Two pieces measuring 25 x 16cm (10 x 61/4") in your chosen lining fabric
  • Two pieces of iron-on interfacing 25 x 16cm (10 x 61/4")
  • Some narrow ribbon and six small beads to match your fabric.
  • A 25cm (10") zip and thread to match your fabric.

You Will Also Need:

  • Plus some basic sewing equipments such as pins, scissors, needle, iron, fabric marker, and ruler or tape measure. A zipper foot for your sewing machine is helpful but not essential
