Wanting to make this for my mum and was wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere to buy the wooden dowels. Look online but cant find any the right size. Preferably one in the UK. Thanks

Any craft store or home improvement store or hardware store should have dowels. Or just cut a pencil to size (it won't show) - or slip a pencil or pen in the slot to use during computing.

I completed this stand yesterday for a Samsung 7inch tablet. I cut up a notebook binder for the insets and it works fine. I might make another with measurements adjusted to 7 inches to display in landscape mode. This one colapses easily to fit in a backpack or other carrier.

I bought an off-brand tablet, and nothing in the stores fits it. I made this stand, modifying the dimensions to fit my tablet. I use it allot and really like it. I place my tablet on this stand and set it up on my sewing machine cabinet so I can read patterns or watch tutorials while I sew, and I use it to watch Netflix. The supplies to make this stand cost just a few dollars, so it was MUCH less expensive than a purchased stand, and it was easy and quick to sew. Thank you so much for this pattern!
