I'm a mom and I blog 1-2 times a week at SnugglebugUniversity.com
I originally made these fabric headbands for my daughters, but I liked them so much that I decided to make some for myself! This is just the template for these headbands. The instructions (with step by step photos) for the headbands can be found on my blog here: http://www.snugglebuguniversity.com/2014/07/fabric-headband-tutorial.html
do I need to enlarge the pattern? what kind of fabric should I use? when I cut the elastic, should I stretch elastic to the length or just measure the length? I spent lots of time on making these headband but it doesn't work out at all. very discouraged. Tracy
Hi Tracy, I'm sorry that it isn't working for you. You don't need to enlarge the pattern, but you do need to cut on the fold as indicated (which means it will be twice as long). You will have four total pieces (A front and a back for both the main part of the headband and the elastic covering part). I'm not sure if you have looked at the instructions and detailed pictures on my website, but you can find them here: http://www.snugglebuguniversity.com/2014/07/fabric-headband-tutorial.htmlDon't stretch the elastic--just measure the length. Type of fabric isn't too important--a regular cotton, or mid weight fabric should work fine. Stay away from knits though--the measurements won't work well for anything stretchy. Sorry that I didn't respond faster--Craftsy didn't tell me I had a comment--I'm faster on my website.
