Sewing has always been my hobby and my profession. I first trained as a tailor as a young girl after which I worked for some fabulous designers. To fit work around my son I became a teacher of Textiles and Product Design. When my son finished school and moved to the USA I decided to start my own business and do what I love best; draft patterns and teach beginners and advanced sewers how to make their projects look professional. I hope you enjoy my patterns and instruction. Now we followed our boy to the US and I get to sew in the beautiful Californian sunshine!View all patterns by designer (53) »
This pattern includes PDF pattern files for both letter size paper and A4 paper.
Step by step video and photo instructions making sewing more enjoyable and even a beginner can now sew like a professional.
The video can be found here:
For this summer my sewing course ladies have asked me to do household items like bags, purses, peg bags and the like. This bag is super easy has an on trend shape, recessed zip, side pockets and if you like even a front welt pocket.
You can make this pattern with feature strips across the front and back for Camper Vans, Beach Hut theme or anything else that you fancy designing. You could also do plain strips or appliqu a name onto it. I still have so many ideas, but 20 bags later I will now give it a rest and leave it up to you to come up with something spectacular!
There are a number of videos you can view to help you make this bag, a detailed introduction to the pattern and handle options, how to sew a welt pocket, how to use purse feet, how to make a charm for the zip and of cause the main instructional video.
This is a beginners bag which requires just a little experience. All seams are straight and the techniques simple enough.
Please visit my project page at frocksandfrolics.com to find all videos in one place, with plenty of tips and a photo gallery of bags made with this pattern.
