Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic Hand Sewing
  • Basic hand embroidery (straight stitch or back stitch)

Pattern Description:

A fun & easy to make wool flower pin. A fabulous accessory for your coat or jacket lapel! So quick and easy, you'll want to make one to match every outfit in your closet.

Simple beginner project- great for kids, too! Have fun mixing and matching your wool colors and buttons. And what a great way to put that button collection to use.

Includes several flower shape variations for unlimited color & shape combinations.

  • Scraps of wool in 3 coordinating or contrasting colors for each flower (about 3" square)
  • Green felt scrap for leaf, about 2 x 3"
  • Cotton fabric scrap (about 4" square)
  • Embroidery floss: green for leaf veins
  • Embroidery floss: color of your choice for flower center
  • Button for flower center (shank or non-shank style)
  • Pin back 1" or 1 1/2" (available at craft stores)

You Will Also Need:

  • sharp scissors, sewing needle, freezer paper
  • glue (white glue or hot glue gun)
  • Optional but helpful: light box, fabric stiffener spray
