Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic Sewing Skills
  • Some English Paper PIecing
  • Applique Techniques

Pattern Description:

The design of this quilt was initially inspired by an asterisk. As the design developed in my mind it quickly became one of my favorites. I love to pair bright colors with white because I think it really helps the starbursts pop.

Each block has a hexagon appliqued in the center. The hexagons are made using the English Paper Piecing technique. I've included the necessary templates in the pattern.

This pattern works great with a layer cake but it's also a great stash buster. Plus, it's a great way to learn new techniques if you've never appliqued or tried English Paper Piecing.
