Hi! I am Janet Barker from Calgary, AB. I have been quilting for 16 years and have been designing my own quilt patterns for about 9 years. At the request of my guild, I started publishing my patterns in 2011. My pattern testers, customers and students have been very happy with their results using my new patterns. I love seeing another quilter's version of my designs!
My patterns often incorporate completely original blocks, or at the very least new twists on standard blocks. In addition to standard piecing, I have three other types of designs - folded back bias curves (sometimes called Cathedral Windows curves), geometrics using "grout", and tessellations. So far I have not incorporated curved piecing or applique, but that may come!
I have an engineering degree and am a retired geophysicist; perhaps that is why I love the geometry of quilting! I hope that you will enjoy stitching up some of my designs.

This cheerful design will bring a breath of spring to your table decor. The tulip petals and leaves have folded curved edges that "float" due to turned-back bias edges, but there is no curved piecing. Avoid directional prints because the units will be cut and sewn on various angles.
