Basic Skills Necessary:

  • how to thread a needle
  • how to make a knot

Pattern Description:

Learn the basics of appliqu with this fun and easy intro project.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 14 x 17 inches


  • 1 fat quarter for the background
  • 1 scrap of fabric approx 10 inches square cfor the wings
  • smaller scraps for the body & antennae
  • cotton thread
  • if you choose to quilt this you will need 1/2 yard of batting and 1/4 yard of fabric for the binding

You Will Also Need:

  • appliqu pins
  • hand sewing needle
  • scissors
  • embroidery hoop
  • if you prefer to use the alternative method to needle turning you need cardboard and aluminum foil
