Thanks for making a beautiful pattern that challenged my brain. The coloring pages were a must and was so glad that you recommended making two so that one can be cut up into pieces. That really helped the planning go smoothly.
I love so many of your patterns!

I am so excited to make this as my "summer project". I've wanted to make one of these ever since the 2013 Block of the Month Club hexigons--and the 3-D looked too difficult to figure out. Thanks for the figuring.

You're welcome, Carolyn! :-) I think you'll find the sewing is quite easy once you get into it. Mostly you need to plan everything well up front using the coloring page, and remember to mark your foundations with your color choices before starting to sew for greatest efficiency.

The 3-D effect is achieved by using two shades of the same color for each ring, with good, but not too much value contrast. Stand back at least 10 feet or more to evaluate the contrast between the two fabrics (of each ring) more objectively; it's easy to persuade yourself something works when you're looking at a favorite print from only 3 feet away :-)

I hope your project is a success, and please remember to post a photo of it here on Craftsy!

Can you tell me the completed size of this pattern please. Would like to make it to enter our local quilt show under the something beginning with H category, there is a limit on the size. Many thanks

Hi pompygirl - The pattern pieces as given make a 24 inch center medallion. But the design is easily resizable from 8 inches to 40 inches square, using the convenient percentages table included. Hope this helps!

Just purchased this pattern and can't wait to try it! I've always loved optical illusion blocks but you've taken it to the next level. Congratulations!

When you say this is for personal use, I assume you mean I could not sell a completed piece, even when acknowledging you as the designer. Is that correct?

Thanks for your question! I'm currently revising my pattern terms of use. If you're selling one or two items made with my patterns, I am fine with it and would appreciate being acknowledged as the designer. For mass production of any of my designs, however, a specific licensing agreement is required. If you'd like more information, please contact me via my website: Thanks!

I have this pattern, a little confused, but I know where I went astray... I will finish it. Love it so much.

I have downloaded this pattern after purchase, and I love it. I think the pattern is well written, has lots of options for sizing in both imperial and metric measurements, lots of pictures showing how to create the pattern, in addition to the alternate views. I have finished the top made in a rainbow fashion and am starting work on a second top with alternating color scheme. This was a great buy for a mathematical mind!
