Feathers in My Heart is a fantastic paper pieced quilt block pattern to use up those tiny fabric scraps, especially 1930's and 40's cottons and feed sacks (or repro prints, if you're not lucky enough to have a vintage stash). Modern fabrics, such as batiks, will give an equally beautiful but entirely different look to the design.
In this beautiful heart block pattern, you'll receive directions and clearly marked paper piecing units to sew the design in several sizes. As given, the pattern pieces create a 6" (15.24 cm) block. But you can easily create the block in whatever size you need by referring to the percentages table included when printing or photocopying the foundations for sewing.
The coloring page included gives you an opportunity to test out different color schemes before cutting into precious fabrics.
Basic paper piecing (also called foundation piecing) knowledge is needed. You'll find my favorite on-line paper piecing how-to links at piecebynumber.com/links.htm!

This Paper pieced heart can be used in many ways. I decided to make a tiny pillow with mine.

I discovered that I don't like paper piecing. But the pattern is well-done and clear. It is a very sweet design. You must know how to paper piece before you try this one. I also tried this one in a dark colour-way just to see what it would look like.
