.This beautiful quilt is a challenging project for the confident, ambitious beginner to the intermediate skill level.
The Tussy Mussie is a beautiful cone shaped flower holder used during the Victorian era to hold the wedding bouquet. Small ones, with pins attached, were used to hold the boutonniere.
The Tussy Mussie was an elegant addition to the Victorian wedding and would make a beautiful quilt for any bride and groom's wedding day!
Tussy Mussie was inspired by the antique traditional nosegay pattern but I wanted a faster and simpler method to piecing this beautiful block. So, I redesigned it, eliminating all "Y" seams so even the confident beginner will find this block a snap to piece. . This pattern includes a very easy paper pieced pattern, a template patchwork pattern, and a quilting pattern along with easy to understand written instructions. My instructions are written for an approximate size of 50" x 50" but can easily be adapted to smaller or larger quilts. This makes a lovely table cover as well.
