Pattern Description:

This is a perfect quilt for a beginning quilter. And it's a really fun and relaxing project for an experienced quilter. Everyone wins!

What makes it so easy? Well, let me tell you. . .

It's all straight lines. No diagonals, no points, no curves. Just nice straight lines. Easy to cut and easy to sew.

I designed the quilt to be forgiving of small errors. Relax! Your seam allowance isn't exactly 1/4 inch? That's ok. Your seams don't match up? Impossible - there are no places for your seams to match up. I planned it special that way. :-)

I tell you exactly what you need to do every step of the way - including how to efficiently cut out your fabric. I have quilt diagrams, specific yardage requirements and cutting instructions for four common quilt sizes. None of this "easily sizes up or down" nonsense! Do you want to do math or do you want to make a quilt? I thought so.

I link to videos throughout the pattern for all the skills you'll need to complete the project - from using rotary cutting tools to sewing a straight line, layering, basting, quilting, and binding. I don't care if you've never even used a sewing machine before - you can totally make this quilt!

See how easy it's going to be? Are you ready to make it? Here are the fabric requirements. . .

Napping Quilt (57" wide x 72" tall)
1/4 yard each of 8 different fabrics for the blocks
3/8 yard each of 8 different fabrics for the strips
1/2 yard binding fabric
for backing you'll need 3 3/8 yards + your scraps
Twin Quilt (66.5" wide x 87.5" tall)
3/8 yard each of 10 different fabrics for the blocks
1/2 yard each of 10 different fabrics for the strips
1/2 yard binding fabric
for backing you'll need 4 yards + your scraps
Queen Quilt (93" wide x 99" tall)
3/8 yard each of 11 different fabrics for the blocks
1/2 yard each of 11 different fabrics for the strips
5/8 yard binding fabric
for backing you'll need 7 1/2 yards
King Quilt (111" wide x 99" tall)
3/8 yard each of 11 different fabrics for the blocks
5/8 yard each of 11 different fabrics for the strips
3/4 yard binding fabric
for backing you'll need 9 yards

The only other thing you need is some batting. I recommend an 80/20 cotton/polyester blend. I especially like Warm & Natural brand. Oh - and get two spools of all-purpose thread to match your background fabric. That's it!

Happy quilting! You're going to have so much fun! :-)
