Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic machine quilting, sewing strips and rotary cutting

Pattern Description:

"Spinning Strips" is a great quilt pattern. It's a new twist on a traditional pinwheel quilt. I have a nifty little trick to make the pieced pinwheel blocks. Can easily be put together in a weekend or at a quilt retreat. You can use your stash to make this quilt or purchase 'new' coordinating fabrics. Do you have a favorite Jelly Roll you've been saving, this is the perfect pattern for you! This pattern is adaptable!

Finished quilt measures 62 " x 80"
Complete project would make a wonderful gift.

***4 pages of directions with directions in US measurements with color picture of finished quilt and supplies clearly stated on the pattern.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 62" x 80"


  • 28- 2 1/2" strips (at least 7 coordinating fabrics) OR 1/3 yard of 7 coordinating fabrics, OR 1 Jelly roll with at least 28 strips 44"-45" length
  • 2 yards cream fabric for background
  • 1 yard coordinating fabric for the border
  • 1/2 yard coordinating fabric for binding
  • 5 1/2 yards for the backing
  • twin size packaged batting
  • thread

You Will Also Need:

  • rotary cutter
  • ruler and cutting mat
