What embellishment did you use for the faces etc. Did you embroider or use buttons. .

For my sample block (8" tall), I used some flat disc beads for the "charcoal" eyes, mouth and buttons. Flat black 2-hole buttons would work just as well, or for smaller size blocks, even flat black sequins. I satin-stitch embroidered the nose on my sewing machine. For larger size blocks (12" or larger), I would fusible machine applique all the features, but that's just my preference. Fabric paint would also work well for the black "charcoal" pieces, and are very easy to do neatly.

Please remember not to use dimensional embellishments for projects made for children under three :-)

Nice pattern, but wish that either the seam allowances had been included or the pieces had been placed further apart on the sheet. It would make it much easier to work.

Also changed the order that the pieces were sewn on the top hat. #1 became #2 and #2 became #1. It's much easier to sew that way.

Hi! Thanks for posting about my Snowman pattern! Just a comment on the top hat sewing order: when done this way, the hatband, piece #2, is slightly raised (because of the seam allowance underneath from sewing to piece #1), as a real hatband would appear. I try to balance ease of sewing with aesthetics of the final project :-)

Happy sewing!

There's one snowman per block, but the blocks are not square unless you add strips to each side.
