I am not going to be using 2 1/2 strips. I am making it from a mu-mu as a memorial quilt. So, I thought I would just do large pieces to keep the flow of the dress. Thank you.

Dfucella,
I haven't made the quilt any bigger. I would suggest that since you want to double the length and the width that you double the strip size. I would try 5" strips by 22" or something like that. It's easier math that way. It would be about 73" x 86". Another options would be to change the dimensions of the strips to 3.75" by 16.5" and the solid strips 12.5 x 66, 16.5 x 66, and 12.5 x 66. that would make the length 66" approximately and the width 57.25". IT's quite a bit of math. You may have to test it out before using the MU MU fabric.
I hope that helps.

I need to make this larger to be a throw size. About 58"X72" or 60"X74". How wide should I make the strips to make it balanced? Any help will be appreciated.
