Hi there! I am a chemical engineer/patent agent by day, a quilter at night, and a mom and wife all the time. I love my family and being a mom to my 6 year old son and 3 year old daughter. Combining my engineering and technical writing backgrounds with quilting has lead me to become a pattern designer. Designing, writing quilt instructions, and doing quilty math are some of my favorite aspects to quilting. You can follow my quilting adventures at www.MeadowMistDesigns.blogspot.comView all patterns by designer (21) »
The ? (pi) quilt is a great quilt design for an engineer, physicist, mathematician, math lover, or nerd. The quilt is at about 51.5 by 61.5", a great lap size or couch size quilt.
The pattern uses the "Paper Pieced Numbers" pattern by Meadow Mist Designs, but any paper that creates 5" tall by 3.5" wide numbers (finished) may be used. The Paper Pieced Numbers pattern may be found here:
This pattern assume a level of paper piecing proficiency so it does not contain instructions for paper piecing. The internet (blogs and YouTube) contains many excellent tutorials if needed.
