I love this and want to use is for a round robin as my centre , would it be hard to enlarge this pattern so the block is a 16-18 inch finished size?.

Forget this question I've just realised that your measurement is for the block size not the 4 blocks together

That would be beautiful! I'd love to see it if you do it and yes, the size should be just right. You can always adjust the print percentages a bit to change the size.

I LOVE everything about this...!!! What is the most challenging part ?

I want to do a small project using this great design....not sure what yet...table topper...wall hanging...purse front...jacket back...I am an experienced sewer and have quilted and paper pieced but not a lot...

Thanks

I don't think you should have any trouble with this block, if you have paper-pieced before. I think the most challenging part is probably sewing the smallest curve. I have a tutorial on my blog to help you out.

Where do we find your blog? Love the pattern, it is on my wish list. Mothers Day is coming up. Hope my kids notice!

Is the flying geese paper pieced?

yes, the flying geese and the long, skinny points are paper pieced.

I made one of these but I appliqued the circles. Any tips on how to sew the circle parts together? I have not posted a picture because the whole quilt isn't finished. I may add one today. I also had a notice the pattern was updated but I didn't see any change.

I think Craftsy sends out those notices just to get you to back to the site. This is the third notice I received on this pattern and I notice no change either.

I had a pattern update notice too, I thought it looked like the instructions on the front sheet had been expanded.

I updated the pattern 3 times. 1. I added seam allowance lines 2. I fixed a small error (the #9 on one piece was upside down) 3. I expanded the instructions after teaching a class in making the block. I don't foresee and other updates.
Qwillry, are you wondering in what order to sew them, or how to sew a curve? You can email me directly with questions (janicezeller@mac.com). thanks!

I posted a tutorial on sewing the tight curves: http://betteroffthread.com/2013/04/26/sewing-semi-circular-curves/

This is amazing! I am a Wizard of Oz collector so the saying and brick free motion quilting adds to the pleasure of viewing this quilt.
