Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You will need basic quilting skills to make this.

Pattern Description:

Have fun with this quick and easy quilt that is perfect for using up those fat quarters! Large half square triangles are reminiscent of Flying Geese. Changing the fabrics you use, whether scrappy or planned, can give this quilt many different looks. Pattern offers instructions for several sizes from lap to king.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Multiple sizes from Lap (54"x 73") to King (111.50" x 111.50"


  • Minimum of 5 light Fat Quarters for triangles.
  • Minimum of 5 dark Fat Quarters for triangles.
  • Minimum of 3 light Fat Quarters for 4-Patches.
  • Minimum of 3 dark Fat Quarters for 4-Patches.
  • 1/3 yard for Inner Border
  • 1/2 yard for Outer Border
  • 1/2 Yard for Binding
  • 3 1/4 yards for backing
  • The number of Fat Quarters used depends on how scrappy and how much variety you want in your quilt. Add more Fat Quarters for a scrappier look.
  • These materials are for a Lap size (54"x73"). Other sizes included in pattern.

You Will Also Need:

  • Thread
  • Batting
  • Sewing Machine
  • Basic sewing supplies (scissorts, pins, etc.)
  • Rotary cutter, mat and ruler
