Merry-Go-Round Quilt in 2 Colorways Pastel Colorway
Merry-Go-Round Quilt in 2 Colorways Primary Colorway

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic sewing and/or quilting skills
  • Small amount of machine applique and hand applique

Pattern Description:

I called this quilt Merry-Go-Round because of the fun colors and the way your eyes move around the quilt. I love both of the colorways! The bold primary colorway has a lot of energy, while the pastel colorway is soft and pretty. Either one would make a wonderful children's quilt, wall hanging, or table topper. (Mine hangs over my cutting table- love it!)

Great for the beginner or "quick" quilter- if your piecing isn't perfect and your seams in the centers of the blocks are mismatched, the appliqued circles will cover up any mistakes :) No worries!!

Vine border can be machine or hand appliqued.

Materials:

  • For background- 1 3/4 yards off-white for primary quilt or very light blue for pastel quilt
  • Assorted solids or tiny prints for the blocks, appliqued circles, and outer pieced border- about 7 different colors, fat quarter of each
  • Assorted prints- approximately 8-10 different florals, stripes, etc. (Include 1 or 2 bold prints with a black background for the primary quilt)- 1/4 yard or fat quarter of each
  • Stripe for border- 7/8 yard
  • appliqued vine border- 1 yard
  • Binding- 3/4 yard
  • Backing fabric- 3 yards (42" wide)
  • Batting
  • Lightweight fusible webbing for machine applique, thread for machine applique
