This baby quilt gets its name from the way the blocks look a little like kissing fish. It makes a great scrap quilt! With careful cutting, a 6" print square (plus solid white) will get one "kissing fish."
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
Finished size: 40" x 51"
A total of 1 3/8 yards of brightly colored prints
2 yards of solid white (such as Kona Cotton in White)
I made this as a gift for a friend for their newborn. It was fairly easy to pull together and the finished product was fantastic.
Proud of how this turned out August 27, 2013
I loved everything about this pattern from its sweet name to its particular meaning for our new grandson, since water, fish, and sailing are connected to his heritage. I also loved being able to mix & match fun fabric scraps from my collection.
Very versatile and fun quilt to make. August 21, 2013
This is a very easy to follow pattern. Thank you so much for giving us this free pattern. I actually changed it from a diagonal pattern to a straight pattern and loved the results. I will be using this pattern again and will be making it on the diagonal next time. Love how it turned out.
Fun and Colorful Baby Quilt. August 6, 2013
I made this baby quilt for my very first Grandson. We used 30 different cotton prints. It was fun working on this quilt with my daughter. The instructions were very simple for someone that has a little knowledge about quilting. This quilt has also inspired me to quilt some more. Yay! Freshly Pieced thank you for offering this free pattern on Craftsy.com.

My first Quilt-Kissing Fish Baby Quilt! April 27, 2013
I used this pattern for my first quilt and the directions were easy to follow even for a total novice like me. By following this pattern, I gained the ability to pay very close attention to detail and precise measuring since the pieces are very small. The result is amazing! I definitely uncovered my inner quilter within this pattern. I'm very grateful! :-)
