Hi, Lee. Could you confirm: are the measurements given for cutting including a 1/4" seam allowance or do I need to add. Example: need 165 3x3 pieces. Do I cut actual 3x3 or 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"? Thanks.

I made the quilt and am having it machine quilted. I loved it and onl problem was having a fish swim upstream instead of down so had to turn them around. with three more baby quilts to do just didn't have time to do work myself. janice

I have a lot of quilt magazine that tells me the measurement and yardage. The quick and easy block tool will tell me and also the picture with it. I don't need yours. Thanks

Is there any instructions on which way to press the fabric?

Freshly Pieced on craftsy.com

Hi there - I usually press my seams open, so this pattern doesn't include any info about which way to press if you prefer to press to the side. My paid patterns generally include that information for those who like side-pressing, but since this is a free pattern, this one doesn't have that. Sorry!

What does on point mean. I am having trouble assembling this quilt

Freshly Pieced on craftsy.com
Freshly Pieced  October 16, 2014

Hello - "on point" means the blocks are set at a 45-degree angle instead of 90 degrees. So, basically, the blocks are a diamond instead of a square. I hope that makes sense and answers your question. : )

Thanks. I finally got this on my own. Took me a while to figure it out. I just finished the top .

How do I download this pattern?

Hello - click the button that says "add digital pattern to cart." You will then need to click "Proceed to check out" and go through the check-out process, even though the pattern is free and won't cost you any money. At check-out, you'll see a button that says "Add to my patterns." Once you do that, you should see the patterns in "My Patterns" under "My Craftsy."

Hi! I just finished piecing the top and am ready to trim it down to 40 x 51, but I notice that, with my top, 40 inches wide means it will be 3/4s of an inch away from the outer fin of each fish. Not sure how I ended up that way, but I assume I should trim it to 1/4 inch from the outer fin of each fish. Is that right?

Freshly Pieced on craftsy.com

Yes, trim 1/4" from each fin.

Love the pattern....Since I received this digitally, I am interested in what your policy is for using it to create kits to sell. I don't wish to "steal" the pattern. I'm on disability and have acuquilt and would like to supplement my income. Thanks, Tammy

Hi Tammy - you cannot under any circumstances re-sell this pattern, whether as part of a kit or otherwise. That is a copyright violation. Sorry.

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone out there can help me. I'm looking for a pattern (scrappy) which I think is called a jigsaw puzzle. Does anyone know where I can lay my hands on a pattern????

You'll find many options if you search for "jigsaw puzzle quilt pattern" in your browser; the most-viewed is this one: quilting.about.com/od/quiltpatternsprojects/ss/jigsaw-puzzle-quilt-pattern.htm

How many different colors of fabric for the fishes and the yardage for each? My instructions only said 1 3/8 for colored fabric. Thanks for clarification!

Hi there! The number of different colors and prints you use is entirely up to you, as long as you have a total of 1 3/8 yards. I made this as a scrap quilt so I'm honestly not sure how many colors I used originally. People have made many different versions of this quilt using many different color combinations/amounts, and they have all turned out great, so I don't think you can go wrong! : ) Hope that helps!
