I've been wanting to organize a block of the month club.... it would be fun to have it be a little bit of a mystery too. Wanting to be able to include all quilting levels I have decided it will be a traditional sampler quilt. This quilt will consist of 12 blocks, one a month. The blocks will be pieced with the occasional appliqued one, maybe paper piecing too. I will have a tutorial with the pattern included each month. I will throw in sashing directions one month, cornerstone blocks in the end. The monthly patterns will be FREE during the month that they are announced, after that they will be available for 1.99.
January's block is called 'Monkey Wrench' It's a quick and easy block to construct and fun to do!
Hope you can join me in the Quilt Doodle BOM Club!
Pattern went together very easy. Cutting and sewing dierctions were very good. Only thing I would have added was a trim measurement after each round of triangles. I have always shyed away from this pattern because HST and me do not get along. This pattern, however, made it very easy. Can't wait to see the following months patterns!
This was a fun pattern to make. The written and photo instructions were clear and easy to follow.
It was very well explained, with great step-by-step photos to accompany the directions. I think it turned out pretty well. The only thing I didn't know how to do was whether to trim the points off the triangles or leave them on. That would have helped me, as I ended up guessing. Fun block.
