I grew up with a needle in hand. I learned knitting, crocheting, embroidery and garment making from my mother. She learned it all from her grandmother, who was a seamstress. Crafting became a life-long affair for me too, with the sewing machine my number one favourite.
The child in me loves to play with colours, textures and patterns. When I am creating something, my intention is to bring the joy of life into it, and through it to all children, young and old. Through the vivid, lively colours and lovable patterns I am hoping to spark imagination and creativity, and bring a little bit more magic into the world.
A friend of mine asked me a good while ago to make a wall hanging for her son. That project never materialised but it inspired this cot organiser. When my first nephew was born I wanted to give him and his mum a present that was unique, personal, sweet and practical. So I modified the original idea and made this cot organiser.
It has three small pockets on top and two big ones below. It really is very practical, ideal for storing nappies, wipes, creams or whatever needs to be at hand. It is designed for the bottom of the cot, but also works well hung up on the wall. It is easy and quick to make, and makes a wonderful present.
I hope you will enjoy making it as much as I did.
Would love to see how yours turns out! :)
