Wall Hanging

Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • basic piecing
  • basic applique

Pattern Description:

"Have Faith! Great things have small beginnings." Sometimes we just need a little reminder.
Creating quilt art should be fun! The pieced background is designed to minimize the frustration of perfect piecing. The measurements given create an over-sized background which is trimmed down before finishing. The appliqued shapes can be completed by fusing or using any machine or hand applique method. The choice is yours.
The pattern includes clear instructions for inking text on fabric, creating 3-D leaves, and mounting the project over a wooden stretcher frame. Tips are also included for building your own frame. You can choose to bind the project instead but a framed piece gives you such great display options. You can hang it on the wall or prop it on a shelf or piece of furniture and even group your piece with other objects you love.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 12" x 12"

  • 16 scraps of light colored fabric
  • small pieces of fabric for applique
  • 6" of edging or binding fabric
  • 13" x 13" backing fabric
  • thin batting
  • fusible web

You Will Also Need:

  • fine tipped black permanent marker
  • Optional: wood stretcher frame, staple gun, and staples
