Guilty Cat Applique Baby Quilt

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Embroidery - Satin stitch, outline stitch

Pattern Description:

I have always loved cats, and thought this would show an example of typical cat behavior.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Each 4-block section is 18 X 21 inches


  • For each 4-block section: 10 inch X 32 inch piece of background fabric
  • 2 inch X 6 ft strip of white for borders
  • 7 inch X 10 inch piece each of dark and light brown
  • Scraps of coarse grained white fabric for "feathers",
  • 2 yds black embroidery thread for whiskers, nose, and outline of eyes
  • 1 yd blue or green embroidery thread for irises of eyes
  • Thread to match fabric

You Will Also Need:

  • 1 sheet fabric marking paper
  • 5-6 inch embroidery hoop
  • Embroidery and sewing needles
  • Staight pins or quilting pins
  • Scissors or shears
  • Steam iron to press seam allowances.
