Did you know deep purple, black and grey are perfect Halloween colors? Forget the orange; this is a quilt for a grownup Halloween holiday :) It has a spooky crazy quilt design made from Alexander Henry Ghastlie prints in smoke colors and grey, purple and black prints.
Behind each top layer of fabric there is a layer of purple flannel. Under the purple flannel is a layer of black flannel. Each seam is clipped and frayed and reveals the layers of print, purple, black and print again. The seams ruffle to give amazing color and texture to the quilt. There is no binding to this quilt, the edges are given a ruffled edge to match the seams.
Need more convincing to try this pattern? The finished quilt is reversible, just as sweet on the back as the front! Even better, you can't mess this quilt up, it's a crazy quilt! Seams don't have to be perfectly matched.
Every step in this quilt was planned to create the most beautiful quilt possible in the most efficient way possible. There are numbered steps and photographs to guide you.
I love designing and making quilts, especially folk and story quilts. All my patterns are easy to follow with step by step directions and photos. Every pattern begins with a quilt created and sewn on my table top machine.
I have a blog where I share the design process behind the patterns, MarylandQuilter.com. Come by and visit!
