I've been making things as long as I can remember, thanks to my Mom who is a great seamstress! My favorite has been quilting for 25 years now and now that my husband and I are empty nesters I am enjoying the opportunity to expand my expertise and creativity in this art. Pattern writing is a new outlet for me and I am enjoying sharing my creations plus hope to be able to help my daughter fund her degree in dance at the same time. Thanks so much for looking at my patterns!View all patterns by designer (37) »
Are you ready for a short, but fun quilt block of the month? Just 5 classic blocks and finishing instructions make a great quilt that you can have finished before Christmas. Making it in Christmas fabrics is part of the fun, but you can always use your favorite fabrics to make it in any colors you desire. Each month will focus on a different technique.
This is the fifth block - Dresden Plate. Just two templates and a background square, some simple piecing, and a shortcut facing technique make this block simple and fun to make. Great for trying out the decorative stitches on your machine, too.
