Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic quilting skills.
  • You do not need to know how to applique. Innovative Applique directions are very detailed to enable everyone to be successful.

Pattern Description:

The leaves can be done in fall, spring or funky colors. The negative space is a fun concept. There are nine leaves in the collection now and ten more to be added.

Use the leaves as a wall hanging. Add a couple to a table runner. Collect all the leaves to create a whole quilt.


Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Appoximately 16"x 18" depending on border size.


  • Background fabric- appoximately 16" x 18".
  • Border material and binding- FQ-1/2 yd, depending on the size of the border.
  • Backing material- FQ-1/2 yd, determined by finished size.
  • Leaf material- FQ or less.
  • Thread- colors to match applique pieces, background and binding.
  • Batting- Determined by finished size, plus 8" x 11" to create applique dimension. A low loft bat works best.

You Will Also Need:

  • C Jenkins 8 1/2" x 11 " freezer paper sheets.
  • Perfect Piecing by June Tailor
  • Print n Fuse
  • Roxanne's Glue Baste-It, please purchase the new accordian designed bottle. It makes application so much easier.
  • Needle of your choice.
  • Thimble of your choice.
  • A pointed tool to turn the edge of the applique pieces.
