  • Basic sewing skills. Sewing a straight line and cutting out patterns.

Pattern Description:

I designed this quilt because I fell in love with lighthouses. This inspired me to design a series of lighthouse wall hangings. At that time, there were few lighthouse patterns around. I enjoy piecing rather than appliqu and I wanted to design a pieced lighthouse pattern.

I have been quilting for over 30 years, being to the Amherst Quilters Guild and meet with my small group of quilting friends monthly. Traditional quilts have always been my favorite, but now I find myself being attracted to modern quilts at the present. I love scrap quilting because of the endless color combinations. Quilting has given me an outlet for my artistic talent. The best part of quilting is combining colors into various patterns.
