Basic Skills Necessary:

  • paper piecing
  • basic piecing

Pattern Description:

Geese fly northeast to the mariner's compass as well as flying around in a circle. Other geese are flying north, south, east, or west. Still others are part of the sawtooth stars and the frame around the stars.
Sample uses Moda Mid-Winter Reds, but any nice assortment of red, tan, and ivory would look great.

This sampler quilt has four different blocks using techniques such as paper piecing, gentle curves, appliqueing paper pieced arcs, and traditional piecing to give you great results and a lot of fun putting the top together.

Templates and all cutting directions are included along with alternate cutting directions for two additional flying geese methods so you can pick the one you like.
