Basic Skills Necessary:

  • fusible applique
  • machine quilting

Pattern Description:

This cute Yankee Doodle Owl mini quilt is perfect for using up your colorful scraps! Timtex interfacing is used to stiffen the quilt, and make it easy to display on an easel.

Simple to put together using fusible applique, you can make this in an afternoon! You can of course, replace the Timtex with regular batting to make it into a mug rug or wallhanging.

Have fun and please post your completed projects!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approx. 6.75" x 7.5" after trimming to your desired size

Materials:

  • Colorful scraps for owl, hat, and firecracker
  • 7" x 8" background fabric
  • 7" x 8" backing fabric
  • 7" x 8" Timtex interfacing
  • 1/8 yd. binding fabric
  • Fusible Web (i.e. Wonder Under or Heat-n-Bond

You Will Also Need:

  • Black marker to trace
  • Black thread
  • Iron
  • 505 fusible spray (optional)
  • Gold thread
  • Small easel to display quilt (optional)
  • Rotary Cutter
  • Pinking Blade for rotary cutter (optional)
