Make this Indian summer baby quilt and the extra cut fabric forms a 53 inch (135cm) bunting and 4 matching coasters! There is almost no wasted fabric when you make the complete set. The three pieces together are a great decoration for your new baby's room. Best of all, you can sew all three in an afternoon.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Completed size of quilt: approximately 29 x 25 inches (74 x 64cm)
  • Completed length of bunting: 53 inches (135cm) plus 18 inches (46cm) extra ribbon on each end
  • Completed size of coasters: approximately 4 x4 inches (10 x 10 cm)

Materials:

  • 2 fat quarters (18x21 inches or 45x53 cm) cotton fabric for the top and side triangle borders
  • 1 fat quarter (18x21 inches or 45x53 cm) cotton fabric for the center panel.
  • 1 1/4 yard (1.14m) cotton flannel for the middle layer of the quilt (this fabric will show at the edges of the quilt triangles and as the top of the coasters.)
  • 1 1/4 yard (1.14m) cotton flannel for the back of the quilt (this fabric will show at the edges of the quilt triangles and as the back of the coasters and as one side of the banner triangles)
  • 2.5 yards (2.29m) 3/8 inch wide (1cm) grosgrain ribbon for the banner string
