Strip To The Beach Bags

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Use a sewing machine
  • Use rotary cutting equipment

Pattern Description:

A quilt as you go Tote bag pattern, including 2 sizes of bags. They go together super quickly for a nice gift or to use as a beach bag, gym bag, lunch bag or whatever else needs lugging around.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Large bag: 16" x 16" x 8"
  • Small bag: 12" x 13" x 6"


  • Large bag:
  • 18 assorted 2-1/2" strips.
  • 1/2 yd. for handles and binding.
  • 3/4 yd. for Lining
  • 32" x 42" of Bosal #326 LF fusible batting or similar.
  • Small Bag:
  • 1-1/4 yd for main fabric and lining.
  • 3/8 yd. for handles and binding.
  • Fat Quarter for accent 1
  • Fat Eighth for accent 2
  • 27" x 42" of Bosal #326 LF fusible batting or similar

You Will Also Need:

  • Sewing machine with a walking foot
  • Rotary cutter, mat, ruler
  • Marking tool
  • thread
