Quilter's Quilting Day Tote

from Garden Path Quilts

Quilter's Quilting Day Tote Quilter's Quilting Day Tote

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You should have basic sewing skills, knowledge of quilting technique in use of rotary cutter, cutting mat, and ruler.

Pattern Description:

This is a great Quilting Day Tote Pattern that will carry all of your quilting tools, accessories, and projects. The tote measures 20" x 14" x 7". I'm a quilter, owned a quilt store for 13 years, taught quilting classes, and always created my own store block-of-the-month designs - so you'll find that all of my quilt pattern instructions are step-by-step, and the drawings very clear.

I really like to go to quilt retreats, meet up with friends on a weekly basis to quilt, and even have monthly quilting dates.

I've tried several different totes to carry my mat, ruler, and quilting supplies but none of them worked. Either the cutting mat was just to big for the bag, or the bag I used was much too small. So I decided to make a "Quilting Day" tote that holds everything I need perfectly.

This tote holds the 12" x 18" Cutting Mat and an 18" ruler. There are pockets inside the bag for your rotary cutter, scissors, and even smaller square rulers, with plenty of room still left inside the bag for more quilting supplies. The large outside pocket is the right size for books or patterns. The smaller front pocket holds your sewing machine cord or an extension cord. Then the side pocket is perfect for your sewing machine foot. Everything all in one bag!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Measure 20" x 14" x 7"

  • You will need cotton quilting fabrics, Soft and Stable stabilizer, cotton batting
