Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Made a previous bag
  • Sewing and quilting experience

Pattern Description:

THIRTEEN POCKETS! but if you need more of a story than that:
This bag was originally designed for duplicate bridge players, but when they saw it, they all said it was perfect for taking on a flight, so it became the "Flighty Bag." Still can be used for bridge, but it turns out to be great for all day every day! So many pockets! And roomy ones to boot! Time to put everything it its place.

And it won a blue ribbon at our quilt show! Enjoy!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 10" x 12" x 6"


  • Normal quilting/sewing supplies
  • 1 3/4 yds main fabric
  • 1 3/4 yds lining fabric (choose light colors)
  • 1 yd contrast for trim etc
  • 48" x 42" low loft batting
  • 2 3/4 yds lightweight fusible 24" wide
  • 1/4 yd very heavy fusible

You Will Also Need:

  • Magnetic snap
  • 24" Metal Tape Measure 3/4" wide
  • 12" heavy duct or medical tape
  • Tip snips for cutting metal tape
  • 4 "feet" for bag bottom (optional)
