Pattern Description:

So many people love the finished look of these ornaments and they make impressive gifts. I wanted to create a step by step pattern filled with lots of pics and detailed instructions so people could make their own fabulous quilted ornaments. The great thing about this project is it requires NO SEWING!!!

This pattern offers lots of room for variation - simply choose your own fabric colors, vary the spacing or add more layers of squares. Embellish with a decorative bow on the top of your ornament for a more festive look.

This pattern can also be adapted to the use of paper squares or fancy ribbon squares. Once you make one, you'll want to make them for all your friends and family!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Finished ball measures appx. 3" in diameter

Materials:

One 3" Styrofoam Ball
Ten 2.5" White or Light Colored Fabric Squares
Sixteen 2.5" Green or Med. Hue Fabric Squares
Sixteen 2.5" Red or Dark Hue Fabric Squares
One 10" strip of 7/8" wide White Ribbon
One 10" strip of 1/8" wide White Ribbon
Approximately 170 Straight Pins
1 Upholstery Tidy Pin
1 small pin box or mug to set your ball on

You Will Also Need:

Rotary Cutter and Mat and a Quilters Ruler for cutting fabric squares.
