My first craft projects were potholders when I was little. I learned to knit and sew when I was about 12 and made my first sweater then. When I went to work I made almost all my clothes, the harder the pattern the better. After I had 2 daughters I made all their clothes when they were little. When they were in school I went to work part time in a local craft store. A year after a transfer to Texas in 1991 I found a local craft store to work in since I was bored and lonely. Little did I know it was part of a larger chain called Michaels. Of course now it is quite a large chain and their home office is nearby. After 3 years I transferred to the office and in June of 2010 I retired after 18 years. I now have plenty of time to craft and have taken up quilting thanks to Craftsy. I have 5 grandchildren - one 10 year old girl, 5-1/2 year old triplets - 2 girls and a boy, and a 2-1/2 year old girl. They provide lots of inspiration!
