Basic Skills Necessary:

  • basic wet felting from roving

Pattern Description:

I have been teaching felting for many years, and this is my favorite class to teach because of the practical project.

You can do so many things with bowls!

-A place to store coasters when not in use
-To store office supplies such as note pads on your desk or in a desk drawer
-To keep my chapsticks in one place on my dresser
-A place to throw change or other "pocket fodder"
-A place to put jewelry I wear daily when I'm not wearing it at night
-A place to throw my keys
-A place to keep remote controls
-A place to keep sewing supplies
-They make fantastic gifts, especially if you make a nested set

The techniques learned (3D felting with a resist) can also be applied to other projects such as slippers or bags.

Ideally the reader will have experience making felt by hand from roving or batting (not knitting/yarn) at least one time in the past. However, the instructions are written and designed for someone who has never felted before.
