Pattern Description:

This revolutionary new chair can be adjusted five ways for the perfect height, length, and seat and knee rest angles. No matter how big or small you are, how high or low your work station, this chair will fit, and you won't have to be climbing over a high center bar to get on and off. It is constructed from short pieces of standard dimensional stock and plywood, so aside from the upholstery and some of the hardware, you probably already have everything you need to make this chair in your shop. Package includes all measurements, detailed illustrated instructions, and a drilling template.

Materials:

  • Table Saw
  • Miter Saw
  • Drill Press
  • 1 X 2 nominal stock - minimum total of 67 inches
  • 2 X 2 nominal stock - minimum total of 89 inches
  • 2 X 4 nominal stock - 6 inches
  • 2 X 6 nominal stock - 8 inches
  • 5/8" plywood minimum 14" X 15" and 14" X 8"
  • 2" thick high-density foam pad 14" X 15" and 14" X 8"
  • Upholstery fabric minimum 22" X 40"
  • Compass
  • Speed square
  • Drill motor with 1/8" bit and matching countersink bit
  • Jig saw
  • Staple gun with 3/8" staples (small hammer may also be required)
  • Wrenches or sockets to fit hex screws and nuts
  • Sander and sandpaper in various grades

  • (2) Hex head screws 4" X 1/2" coarse thread
  • (2) 1/2" Locking nuts coarse thread
  • (4) 1/2" Flat washers
  • (8) Hex head screws 3 1/2" X 1/4" coarse thread
  • (8) 1/4" Locking nuts coarse thread
  • (16) 1/4" Flat washers
  • (6) Round head sheet metal or wood screws #8 X 1 1/2"
  • (2) Flat head deck or wood screws #8 X 1 1/2"
  • (10) Flat head deck or wood screws #8 X 2 1/2"
  • (6) Flat head deck or wood screws #8 X 3"
  • (5) No-mar plastic furniture feet or felt pads
  • Strong bonding wood glue
  • Masking tape and marker pen
  • Particle board or heavy cardboard for drilling templates
  • Double-stick tape
