Pattern Description:

This woolly bird was created in response to my vegan friend who wanted an inedible turkey for the Thanksgiving table.

For an ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE knitter. There is some great technique in this pattern, including a heel turn knitted flat and short row shaping, both of which are fully explained in the pattern

7 stitches and 10 rows in stockinette stitch = 1"

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 4" tall


  • US Size 3 needles (3.25mm)
  • US Size 3 (3.25mm) double pointed needle
  • Approx 60 yards of brown Double Knitting yarn
  • Approx 10 yards of cream Double Knitting yarn
  • Approx 4 yards of orange Double Knitting yarn
  • Fiberfill
  • Tapestry Needle

You Will Also Need:

  • 2 buttons for eyes

Suggested yarn:

80 yards of DK weight
