(6) Name: 'Knitting : Scooter

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit and purl
  • Knitting in the round
  • Picking up stitches
  • Increasing and Decreasing
  • Short rows

Pattern Description:

Scooter is a cute little sea turtle that's fun and fast to knit and makes a perfect gift for the little guy or girl in your life (or for yourself!). A textured shell adds interest to your knitting, while his completely seamless construction makes him quick to work up for baby showers and very special birthdays.

Pattern includes both charted and fully written instructions.

27 sts and 36 rows measure 4x4in, 10x10cm in Stockinette Stitch, after blocking.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 8.5in, 21.5cm from head to toe; 9.25in, 23.5cm fin-span. Shell measures 4.5in, 11.5cm wide. (Finished measurements will depend on yarn weight and needle size)


  • 123yd/113m of DK weight yarn
  • US 2 (2.75mm) 40"/100cm circular needle for magic loop, or set of four DPNs

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle
  • Eight stitch markers, with four locking markers
  • Fiberfill or scrap roving for stuffing
  • Black scrap yarn for eyes
