Basic Skills Necessary:

  • increase
  • decrease
  • knit in the round (sleeves and hat)
  • kitchener stitch (hat)
  • short rows (hat only)
  • intarsia (for stripes)

Pattern Description:

The Scooter Sweater is knit seamlessly, from the top down, in sport weight yarn. Instructions for 2 different stripe patterns are included. The sweater closes with buttons at the back for easy dressing.

The Scooter Hat is almost seamless - there is a small seam at the back of the garter stitch band. The ear flaps are created with short rows.

Row by row instructions (including stitch counts) for the short rows are included. Instructions for wrapping stitches in garter stitch is included. No picking up wraps required!

"Scooter" is perfect for spring and fall, when you want to play outside but it is a bit too chilly for just a t-shirt!

Gauge:

26 Stitches / 10cm (4") in stocking stitch.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • The Scooter Sweater and Hat are designed to fit SLIM all-vinyl 46cm (18") play dolls like Kidz 'n Cats. The outfits pictured are modelled by Kiki, a Kidz 'n Cats doll. She has a chest circumference of 23cm (9") and a head circumference of 26cm (101/4"). The Scooter Sweater and Hat will NOT fit American Girl Dolls.

  • 3.0mm needles
  • darning needle
  • removable stitch markers
  • small pom pom maker (optional)

You Will Also Need:

  • 4 small buttons

Colorway:

1 Ball of each of 2 colours of Baby Cashmerino is sufficient to knit a sweater and a hat. A small amount of a third colour is required for the 3 colour outfit pictured.
