Penny Pig is a huggable squidgy knitted toy with a curly tail. This is a basic knitting pattern, ideal for beginner knitters or if you are new to making toys.

Finished size ...

The finished pig is approximately 22cm high, but you can make her bigger by following this pattern and using a larger needle size.

About the pattern ...

This basic knitting pattern is written row by row so it is easier for beginners to follow, and includes a list of abbreviations and step by step construction details with photos to help you. The pattern is written in English. All pieces are knitted flat on straight needles (except the tail which is knitted on two double pointed needles).

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • The finished pig is approximately 22cm high.


  • All pieces are knitted flat on 3mm straight needles.
  • To knit the pig you will need approximately 100g double knit yarn in pink, plus 100g toy stuffing.
  • You will also need black beads for eyes.
  • Penny Pig's tail is made by knitting i-cord, and this uses two double pointed needles, plus a pipe cleaner/chenille stem.
