Little Betsy Wetsy Bonnet & Sweater

(6) Name: 'Knitting : Little Betsy Wetsy Bonnet & Sweater
Little Betsy Wetsy Bonnet & Sweater Little Betsy Wetsy Bonnet & Sweater

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit, crochet (chain stitch).

Pattern Description:

I love this knitting pattern for a 1957 7-1/2" Ideal Little Betsy Wetsy. Betsy enjoys playing outside with Auntie Cissy and she will be nice and warm in her handmade sweater and bonnet.

The pattern uses size US 2/2.75 needles. I prefer circular needles because it helps to have a little stretch as the pattern expands. The sweater is knit from the neck down.

With a little guidance from a friend, a book, or an online video, a beginner can tackle this project. I wrote it out line by line, and very clearly, with a space before each row so you can check off each completed row.

  • Sewing thread; 3 ea 1/4 buttons; tapestry needle
