Oh my goodness. I was just looking at Westie things on Pinterest and came across this little guy. I lost my buddy Casper in March to cancer in his head. He was 3 months shy of turning 16. I have had the most difficult time. This is by far the cutest stuffed animal I have seen depicting a Westie and believe me I've searched a lot out trying to find a huggable friend:) I was disappointed he was only a pattern to knit considering I have no crafting ability! He looks so soft and happy:)

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss! Thank you for your kind words. My Westie is designed after my sister's westie, Duffy.

Hello Rainebo, would you mind accepting an order for this pattern? I don't knit but I saw this and she looks exactly like my baby! I call her my little Highlander :) Do please let me know. My email is tamtams_money@yahoo.com. Thank you!

Thank you for this gorgeous pattern. I am knitting it for my 9 year old granddaughter whom would love a Westie for a pet. I am having a little trouble with the front paw as it is written. I would appreciate your clarification. But thanks again. Regards Joyclyn
Front Paw & Front Leg (Make 2):
(You will be working from the paw
to the top of the leg.)

Row 7: K12, inc8, k12 = 40 sts
Rows 8-18: Work in St st, beg with purl

Row 19: K4, dec16, k4 = 24 sts

I had the correct stitches and knitting correctly to ROW 18

Row 19 appears incorrect ? should it be DEC 32?
As K4 dec 16 K4 = 24 as you say but there are 40 stitches on needle at the beginning of row 19.

I would appreciate your assistance
Thank you Joyclyn
I would appreciate it if you could email me directly joyclyn11@bigpond.com

Are the instructions completely written out or are they abbreviated? Thank you. Really lifelike.

The instructions are written out with abbreviation such as "dec" for decrease, "inc" for increase, etc., but all abbreviations are listed and explained in the notes of the pattern, so they are very easy to understand.

I didn't realize how many people have this kind of dog until I put this up. So many people have told me their dog looks just like my Westie Puppy pattern. That's so good to hear! Thank you!

I have just bought 5 balls of the ice white long eyelash wool. Will that be enough for this gorgeous pattern. Absolutely love him

Thank you so much! Westie sits about 13" tall (without his ears), so he's not tiny. I used about 440 yds. of the long eyelash yarn, which was 12 balls. Unless you have large balls, I doubt that 5 balls would be enough to make him.
