Pattern Description:

The traditional Breton Stripe top is a wardrobe staple, made popular by Coco Chanel and Pablo Picasso. Why shouldn't your doll also own a version of this enduring classic? Her traditional top features a hook and loop tape (or buttoned) closure up the back for easy dressing, and minimal shaping for easy knitting.

Pattern features:

Gauge:

20 sts and 26 - 28 rows = 4inches (10cm) with larger needles in stockinette st (knit 1 row, purl 1 row).

Materials:

  • Medium Weight cotton or cotton blend yarn such as Knit Picks Comfy Worsted (50g balls): 1 ball of each of 2 colors

You Will Also Need:

  • 1 Spare needle or stitch holder
  • This top can be made with either a hook and loop tape or a buttoned closure up the back:
  • For hook and loop tape closure: 6inch Length of extra soft hook and loop tape, no more than 5/8inch wide (such as Velcro(r) Soft & Flexible Sew-On Tape).
  • OR For buttoned closure: 4 Buttons, 3/8inch to 1/2inch diameter.
